Regardless of your opinion on the environmental aspects of moving to an alternate fuel system, the fact remains that gasoline is a finite energy resource. Electric cars are good, but lack the power to really be considered truck and SUV population. This is essential as the truck and SUV vehicles use the largest percentage of gas in this nation. Hydrogen as a fuel is virtually limitless and carries more power than normal gasoline. The development of hydrogen fuel was tested and failed in Japan primarily because the energy cost to divide the hydrogen from water was simply too great. However the United States has numerous dams in the Pacific Northwest that have fallen into disrepair. Each dot in the pictures above represents a potential dam that may be used for hydrogen extraction, as many of them could be made to easily produce the energy require the divide the hydrogen from the water module. This alleviates the cost burden on the government to maintain these dams, provides jobs, as well as moves the system to less controversial fuel sources. Transportation and dam conversion costs are the primary difficulties, but I am confidence by the shire availability of these dams the birth of this industry will make the solution soon enough. In addition there are permits, studies and other government costs that make such alterations difficult. The government is already willing to provide some compensation for individuals who will maintain these dams as they have fallen into disrepair. I have attempted to contact government bodies regarding the specifics, but as you know the government is difficult to work with. Perhaps local negotiations could lead the government could allow private ownership of these dams in exchange for energy and job purposes. More information will be made allowable when I am able to get through to the relate government sources. Any tips or hints would be useful.
